Fertility and Sexual Health Information Session and Q&A

We know that young people have lots of questions about how cancer and treatment can impact on your fertility and your sex life. There’s lots of information out there but it can feel really overwhelming if you’re worried or embarrassing if you’re not sure who to ask.

In February 2024 we held a joint webinar with OUTpatients about fertility, sexual health and cancer with Teenage Cancer Trust nurse Beth McCann who is a cancer nurse specialist.

The webinar covers lots of different topics, but an overview is: fertility preservation, your fertility after treatment, sexual health, your rights as an LGBTQ+ young person, and body image (a full list of content and timings are listed below.) It was an event for those aged 16 and over.

Please be aware the webinar talks openly about sex and sexual health. So, if you’re listening in a public place you may want to use headphones.

If you have any questions about the content, you can email socialcare.practitioner@younglivesvscancer.org.uk

More about OUTpatients

OUTpatients is the UK’s only LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. They are proudly led by and for LGBTIQ+ people affected by cancer (which includes partners and carers as well) and work hard to support and advocate for our community. They run online and in person peer support sessions, education sessions, and make bespoke resources. They have recently produced an amazing Sex and Cancer Info Hub which is available on their website here and is referenced in our webinar below.
