Telephone fundraising
Did you know that last year, here at Young Lives vs Cancer we spoke to thousands of you by telephone?
Whether it’s welcoming you as a new member of Team Young Lives, sharing the impact your support is having or listening to your thoughts and answering questions, we love to talk to you about the amazing difference you make every day.
Telephone fundraising is one of the most cost effective ways for Young Lives vs Cancer to raise funds to provide vital support for children and young people with cancer and their families, throughout the UK.
It is an excellent way for us to personally thank you, our donors and update you on the impact your donations are having.
It also gives us the opportunity to talk about Young Lives vs Cancer’s ambitions to develop our services. We may include a request to increase a regular gift amount, or consider restarting a cancelled regular gift. Regular gifts provide Young Lives vs Cancer with a steady, dependable income which helps us to plan for the future and develop our services.
You could either get a call from our in-house Supporter Engagement Team or a colleague from a small number of external agencies we work with. They may call you to welcome you to the charity, check you’re happy with your experience or for fundraising purposes.
If it’s an agency colleague, they will give the agency name and say that they are calling on behalf of Young Lives vs Cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer fully trains our agency colleagues to ensure that they are as informed as possible about our work, and provide an excellent quality of service. Young Lives vs Cancer and our agencies also adhere to the regulations and Codes of Practice set out by The Fundraising Regulator. You may be called between 9am to 9pm. We call until this time so that we have the best chance of reaching more supporters.
We call Young Lives vs Cancer supporters, based on their previous relationship with us and communication preferences. For example, some of our supporters prefer to be contacted by telephone.
We are committed to communicating with our supporters in the way that you prefer and our fundraisers understand the importance of listening to supporters and respecting your wishes. They will note if you do not wish to be contacted again by telephone in the future. If you are too busy to talk, the fundraiser will immediately end the call or arrange a more convenient time to call back.
