Terms & Conditions
By participating the “Event” in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer (registered charity in England and Wales (1107328) and in Scotland (SC039857) (the “Charity”) you are deemed to have agreed to the following Terms and Conditions:
- By signing up you will be confirming that you have read the safety guidance and that you are over 18, physically fit and in good health to safely take part in this challenge. That you have no known condition that may affect your ability to take on this challenge or that could cause a risk of danger to myself or others. You must understand that you are 100% responsible for choosing a safe location for your challenge and that you acknowledge that you are taking part in this event at your own risk and that Young Lives vs Cancer, cannot be held liable for any injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability caused or sustained before, during or after the event, as a result of your participation. You need to understand that you are responsible for your own safety and your own actions (including the safety of your possessions) whilst undertaking this challenge.
- Sign up to the Event is via the Social Sync platform. You understand that Social Sync is an independent software company to the Charity. You can view their privacy policy here – Social Sync Privacy Policy. All information provided as part of the registration form is processed using the Social Sync platform. Social Sync only processes the information on behalf of the Charity for the purpose of administering your participation in the Event.
- You will have the option to set up a GoFundMe Fundraiser. You understand that GoFundMe is an independent company of the Charity and by choosing to set up a GoFundMe Fundraiser, you will also be agreeing to their terms and Privacy Policy with is available here – GoFundMe Privacy Policy
- You are registering for and taking part in the Event of your own volition and therefore confirm that your general state of health and fitness is good and that you understand that any injury sustained by you, which after investigation is deemed to be no fault of the Charity, shall be your own responsibility. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall attempt to limit or exclude the Charity’s liability for fraud, death or personal injury.
- No one under 18 years of age can register and take part in the event
- By participating in the Event, you confirm that you will comply with all applicable laws and government guidelines in force at the time and shall ensure that any children and guests attending the Event to support you shall do the same.
- Should you choose to connect your Social Sync account with any other third-party website and/or a device, you accept that you do so at your own risk, and the Charity shall not be responsible for any data you provide them, or the terms and conditions you may be asked to accept.
- By providing your details the Charity will contact you by email, SMS, telephone and mail about your fundraising and your participation in relation to the Event. The Charity may also contact you for marketing purposes by email, telephone, mobile telephone, or text, but only if we have your permission to do so. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information, Privacy Policy – Young Lives vs Cancer We will always treat your personal details with the utmost care and will never sell or swap with other organisations for their marketing purposes. - Individual Participants who request a fundraising pack through submitting a registration form will automatically be sent the requested item(s) in the post. Participants must provide a residential postal address, in the United Kingdom, which includes a valid postcode (“Valid Postal Address”) to receive fundraising pack
- Fundraising packs including gifts are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
- The Charity reserves the right to replace the fundraising pack or gift with an alternative if circumstances beyond the Charity’s control makes it necessary to do so.
- The Charity reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
- The Charity reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time and may amend the dates advertised if necessary.
- The Charity accepts no responsibility for any errors due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, network, or server failure of any kind.
- The fundraising pack will be sent via second class post, to the Valid Postal Address given upon registration to the Event, unless the Charity is updated otherwise.
- The Charity accepts no responsibility for any fundraising pack that are lost, damaged, or delayed in in the post and can only send out a replacement if available.
- Personal data supplied during this promotion may be passed on to third party suppliers only in so far as required for fulfilment, delivery, and arrangement.
- In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any other terms and conditions on this website, or any other third-party websites associated or linked to via this one, then these Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent allowable by applicable law.
- These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim between the parties arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, or its subject matter or formation.
